EX-CHRONICLES

Ed’s been divorced for seven years, has a great long-time girl friend, is planning how to open a new art gallery, and suddenly his ex-wife Rebecca shows up, plants her belongings inside his door and over Ed and his girlfriend’s objections moves in with them. There’s a simple explanation. Out of financial necessity, Ed’s been shorting Rebecca on her overly large alimony payments and Rebecca’s back until it’s all paid in full. That’s Rebecca’s argument for moving back in, but her hidden agenda is that she realizes she still loves Ed and wants him back. Mom calls in their young adult children for support and a family crisis meeting. Ed pleads with them, but sensibly none of them want to take in mother. After a wild family encounter they leave it to their parents to solve. Ed’s girlfriend splits in a huff, but then doubles back and jumps into Ed’s bed with him. She’s got a five-year investment to protect. Rebecca’s moving in is supposedly only a temporary thing, but as it turns out, it looks like it could be a long stay.
